“Sometimes the strength of motherhood is greater than natural laws.” – Barbara Kingsolver

“Show me a person who hasn’t known any sorrow, and I’ll show you a superficial.” -Tennessee Williams

I would personally love to meet the person who hasn’t known any grief or sorrow in his or her life, because that life must be so blessed! This sweet family being featured today has known their fair share of grief and sorrow, from struggles with infertility to loss and everything in between. That’s why I was so excited to hear from them last month when they were ready to announce this new addition to their family!

Every session I do with a family I try to personalize to their individual familial personality, whether it be through their outfits to the location to the props we use! This creative mama planned and prepped more than I could have dreamed! From custom onesies and shirts, to sign boards, to confetti cannons (biodegradable, of course)!

We divided their session into 2 sections – adorable family pictures and the pregnancy/gender reveal! Their outfits for their family pictures were so cute, and we had so much fun taking family pictures as well as couples’ pictures! Even Camden’s best friend got involved! Aren’t they adorable with their matching baby bumps?

Then everyone got changed into their custom shirts, and we got to the extra fun part of the session – the pregnancy and gender reveal! Big sister Addie was so excited to show off her adorable smile and excited face, even though this was a surprise to her too! Camden, Zach, and I snuck away to get some private time with their gender reveal and to make sure we got plenty of pictures of just the two of them! We were all so excited to find out what they’re having – take a look below!

Especially in sessions like this, I love making sure we get pictures of the parents to help celebrate their relationship. After all, before they were parents, they were a couple, a cohesive unit, a team! Their relationship is so important to honor and cherish, and I adore getting to help them remember that part of their lives, not just the parent role!

Camden, Zach, and Addie – I had such a blast getting to announce and celebrate your new addition with you! I’m so glad we finally got to have this session and this time together! Camden, I can’t wait to shoot your maternity pictures in a few months – you’re going to be gorgeous and glowing even more than you are now! Enjoy this magical time in your life, because as your belly expands, your heart will too!
