I feel so lucky that I had the chance to capture the Simpson’s Little Elam family portraits. Two years ago, I met Lauren’s sister during mini sessions and I loved working with her sweet family. So, when Lauren reached out to me about booking a family session for her family because of her sister’s experience, I was estatic! There’s something so special about getting referrals from family members like that! Lauren, her husband Nelson, and their two kiddos, G. and M. were just so much fun – super giggly and having the best time. I’m so happy to be sharing their session with you today! It reminds me why I seriously love my job every single day.

Little Elm Family Portraits

These two kids are just the sweetest! G. was a total ham for the camera and M. loved being able to snuggle up with her mom and dad. Watching them together was the icing on the cake! G. loved being able to sing to his baby sister. I don’t think I’ve heard “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” so much in one session but I absolutely loved every minute of it! Lauren told me from the start she was super excited about capturing portraits of the kids being together and they gave us so many great opportunities. Those lifestyle photos are probably some of my favorites from their session.

One of the thing that really matters to me during family sessions is capturing the unposed, natural moments. While we all want that photo where we’re smiling at the same time, there’s something so beautiful about the real life interactions that unfold in family portrait sessions. These photos really capture your family’s relationship and they’re going to be the ones you really love in the end. Trust me – as a mom and a photographer, I know that’s the case!

I hope you enjoy a peek into the Simpson’s portraits! They’ll be on the blog again soon because since this session, I’ve had the chance to capture them twice more for extended family photos and one year portraits for M.!
