When Jennifer first reached out to me about doing a an extended family session with 3 generations and 3 families, I was so excited! Families who joyfully love each other and want to remember the chapter of their lives that they’re in right now are my absolute favorite! She let me know that they’d love to have a session surrounded by nature and featuring all the natural beauty of Texas as it’s approaching fall. However, we were going to be restricted by 1 challenge: her sweet father is in a wheelchair, so any location we chose would have to be able to accommodate that! 

After considering several possibilities, we finally decided on Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, and I’m so glad we did! This is one of my absolute favorite locations to shoot, because there are so many gorgeous options, there’s fantastic light everywhere, and you can get such a variety of background and images without having to leave! Plus, you get a nice workout walking around on all the rolling hills! 

I came out and scouted all of our possible sites for this awesome session, and found this gorgeous clearing off the literal beaten path, that let us to get Grandpa Bert right in the middle of the action! Between the 3 young cousins, 2 adult children and their spouses, and their parents/grandparents, we had SO. MUCH. FUN. The kids kept us laughing as they were running around, and we still got to sneak in individual pictures of them. (Mom and I had to sing and dance to “Baby Shark” for some of them, but the humiliation was TOTALLY worth it!) Each of the married couples got to spend a couple of minutes in front of the camera snuggling and being beyond adorable, and we of course got pictures of EVERYONE all together! Believe me when I saw there was more than 1 outtake from trying to get 9 people all looking at the camera at the same time and smiling, but we got some great final pictures!

Y’all, you were such a blast to work with! I smiled so hard the entire session, I’m pretty sure I got a couple more crow’s feet from it! You were all so perfect and joyous and sweet, and you looked absolutely fabulous! Thank you so much for trusting me with your family’s memories!
