If you’ve ever wondered what this looks like, just take a look at the way Colin looks at Katie! When I was shooting their engagement session at Stone Creek Park in Flower Mound and in Old Town Lewisville, every time I turned around, he was looking at her with the sweetest devotion and love! Melted my heart every time! I had to work hard to catch it on camera, but when I did, you can just feel the warm fuzzies rippling off of them in waves!

Colin and Katie met 8 years ago at a New Year’s Eve party, and they got engaged this past New Year’s Eve – how perfect is that? He’s a lawyer, and she’s an elementary school teacher, so they both have such huge hearts for serving and helping other people. Unfortunately, right now, they’re living through the current adaptation of “Love in the Time of Cholera.” This had better clear up by the time they get married this fall, because I’ll be darned if they don’t get the wedding of their dreams – they’ve earned it!

When we were talking about what they wanted for their engagement session, they wanted to capture the essence of where they got engaged near their home, so we went to Stone Creek Park, and it was B-E-A-Utiful! The light filtering through the trees, the natural setting, and the waterfalls! I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for a fabulous waterfall! They also wanted a historic downtown industrial brick feel, so my first thought was Old Town Lewisville, which was perfect! It was so quiet and peaceful, it was almost like being out at the park still (but with fewer mosquitoes!)!

Katie styled their outfits perfectly, thanks to a little help from the custom style guide I sent them! Colin got to look ruggedly handsome like a Ralph Lauren ad, and he pulled off the James Bond look better than Connery! Katie had the cutest skirt that was so light and airy and a fabulous contrast to all the trees at the park! And oh em gee, can we talk about her LBD and pearls? So Audrey! So Jackie O! So So pretty!!

Katie & Colin, I had so much fun hanging out with y’all at your engagement session! I know your cheeks were hurting from all the smiling, and believe me, mine were too! Especially once I started editing your beautiful pictures! We laughed, we slipped and we tripped, but we did not fall! I’m so excited to shoot your wedding in just a few months, and get even more pictures of Colin looking at Katie with those manly and adorable heart eyes!!
