I’m so excited to be sharing Allison and Kent’s Dallas engagement session with you! Allison and Kent are some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met and their love story is super sweet too. They met when Allison was a teacher for one of Kent’s kids years ago in California and they kept in touch as Allison moved to Texas. Before they knew it, they were dating long distance and it blossomed into something more – and now, they’re married! I had the honor of capturing their engagement session and wedding day… within 2 days of each other, and it was seriously such a great time.
Since Allison and Kent have spent most of their relationship apart, their engagement session was actually a great time for them to have some quality time together. I love that we were able to intentionally keep it low key for them, focusing on a walk along Katy Trail. Instead of having to dress up super fancy and go somewhere they don’t really care about, we made sure their engagement session reflected who they are. It was relaxed, joyful, and doing something they enjoy. Having them relaxed made my job even easier! With my natural posing system, nothing ever felt forced (or too “young” or “old”) for them! That’s my favorite part about finding a location and building a session that means something to you!
Like I mentioned, I photographed their wedding day just 2 days after this session. Since Kent was flying in for the wedding, we had to put a lot in a little bit of time, but it was so worth it! Thank you, Allison and Kent, for being so accommodating to me and letting me capture your love story! Oh, and for trusting me on this gloomy day. It was overcast but we still captured portraits that tell their sweet story perfectly! Congratulations – and keep your eyes peeled for your wedding day up on the blog soon!
