couple hugs with cheeks touching during TX wedding day in the winter

Mariana and Joshua are married! Okay, okay, by the time you read this, they’ll have been married for 6 months… but who’s counting?! Their January Chapel of Ana Villa wedding was everything we dreamed it would be full of SO many silly and equally sweet moments. When I met Mariana and Joshua for their engagement portraits last September, I immediately knew that they were MY people. They’re so full of life and lots of laughs. And they just love each other so, so much. Every moment of their wedding day reminded me how special my job really is!

While their winter wedding wasn’t exactly the glowing bright day couples dream of (okay, literally, there were just gloomy clouds all day long), we had a great time exploring Arbor Hills during their portrait session and working with the most even light which means their photos are super pretty anyway! I’ll take gloomy clouds over harsh light any day! Joshua made Mariana laugh during their portraits together, and like their engagement session, it was just so joyful. That’s the best way I can describe these two: joyful. I want all my couples to be as goofy and happy as these two are!

And in between all of the goofy moments, Mariana and Joshua truly had an emotionally charged day. One of the most emotional moments was when their mothers laid a lasso around them during their ceremony. It was a beautiful nod to Mariana’s Hispanic heritage. And speaking of emotional moments – during the reception, Joshua surprised everyone and gave a thank you speech directly to Mariana’s family in Spanish. There were soooo many happy tears shed as he thanked them for welcoming him to the family and shared how excited he was to have Mariana as his new wife. I’m not saying I cried, too. But I’m not saying I didn’t cry either…

Mariana and Joshua also planned a really eco-friendly and sustainable wedding. The bridesmaid dresses were from Dear Cleo and made of recycled materials. And they rented flowers! How cool is that? They were simply gorgeous and anything with less waste is a win in my book.

Congratulations again Mariana and Joshua. Thank you for being two amazing souls and allowing me to be a part of your incredible day. It was such a blast and I’m honored I was your wedding photographer!
